Sheikh Rasheed is in hot water after Supreme court Judge justice Isa remarks in Rasheed’s disqualification case,
Supreme court reserved the verdict today, meanwhile during proceedings Awan’s lawyer argued before the 3 member bench that according to the people’s representation act, a person is liable to declare all assets before contesting elections. Panama verdict was once again part of discussion.
Meanwhile Sheikh Rasheed legal council argued that his client didn’t intended to hide any thing and mistake was made in valuing his assets,.
Justice Isa remarked that it was never mentioned in Panama verdict that whatever the mistake, the punishment should be disqualification.
Justice Azmat Saeed who is also heading the bench asked, the question is whether a lawmaker should be disqualified if its proved that an error is committed in filing nomination papers. We have to see if this has been done deliberately.
While speaking to Rasheed’s lawyer justice Isa said that his client was petitioner in Panama case and now he is a respondent. He further said that when a man points a finger at someone else, he should remember that four of his fingers are pointing at himself
